New heroes and difficulties on the way
The dark passages of the world of Dark Souls have seen many heroes, and many of them have finally been emptied and remained in this place as enemies that will not welcome future travelers... The expansion adds new enemies, clash maps, and special mechanics and miniatures to the game that not only decorate the field during the game, but also diversify the locations.
Enemies and allies from this expansion can be added to the basic sets «Dark Souls - Tomb of Giants» and «Dark Souls - Painted World of Ariamis».
Also, the figures from this expansion can be used when playing «Dark Souls. The Roleplaying game» or any other role-playing game.
Expansion features
- New enemy types. Giant Stalker from «Dark Souls 2» is the mini-boss of this expansion, while the Mimic, Silver Knight, and the Hollow with Firebombs are enemies for regular encounter cards that can also be found in the box.
- New treasure mechanics, which are associated with the appearance of the Mimic in the game.
- Miniatures of objects: barrels, chests, bonfires, and tombstones should decorate your table during the game and make the world even more expressive. However, if you paint your figures, everything will become even more beautiful.
Game features
Let`s note a few key mechanical advantages on the way to dim locations to battle giant bosses.
- Programmed enemy actions. As with smaller opponents, this applies to movement distance and strike speed, bosses feel truly alive: their gradually playing deck of actions does not shuffle and become stuck after the first round of use, but will react to external conditions, the location of the players and the boss, and his state - stamina and injuries.
- Using stamina. All movements and strikes have their own price, after which the hero needs time to recover.
- Campaign mode. A series of mini-bosse encounters to confront the giant at the end. Each boss, of course, has its own behavior pattern.
- Using bonfires. A defeated hero also loses everything and is reborn near a bonfire. However, in the tabletop version of Dark Souls, the hearth can go out after a certain number of uses, after which the hero will no longer be able to return.
