Board Game Evergreen - Green planet

This is a beautifully abstract game about growing forests in the most advantageous position under the sun`s rays. The game`s wooden and cardboard components only emphasize the theme of nature.

In addition to focusing on personal planet boards, which will be where most of the game will take place, the game also boasts important player interaction in the biome card selection phase.

Seasons and Phases

The game lasts four rounds, each of which will have the sun on different sides of the playing field, and the number of rounds will decrease. A round consists of three phases:

• Players take turns choosing biome cards from the open row.
• Players simultaneously perform the selected action on the specified terrain type, and also activate the power of the card, which pumps one of the tracks.
• Preparations for the next round are made, if necessary.

Choice Phase

At the beginning of each round, cards must be laid out in the center of the table, one more than the number of players. The first player, having the advantage in choosing, must also place his initiative token on the first card of the row, and the one who chooses it will become the next first player. The last player, who chooses from the two cards, also decides which of the cards will remain and will have an effect on all players. This can be a fertility card, which will affect the final score for a certain type of territory, or an aridity card, which destroys the previous fertility card.

Action phase

Depending on the selected card, players can plant or grow chips on the specified type of territory on their board. The most interesting thing in the game is the correct placement of large and small trees and bushes, the distance between which will affect the incidence of sunlight, and therefore the victory points.

At the end of each season players count the number of trees that receive light from the sun and do not cast shadows from other trees, and move the marker around their planet. In addition, points are awarded to the largest group of trees and bushes placed orthogonally – forest. 

At the end of the game, the fertility value is added to the result — each large tree in a certain type of terrain brings the same number of points that corresponds to the fertility level of that biome.
