A new edition of the popular family game about building wonders of the world. The design has changed, the wonders have "night" and "day" sides, and the color palette is optimized for people with impaired color perception.
Wonders of Draft
This is a simple and short economic strategy that is suitable for playing both in a family circle and in a large friendly company. This is a truly universal board that supports almost any composition of participants - from two to seven people. Hiccup has no doubt that the game will appeal to everyone, regardless of age or gaming experience.
Players are invited to become rulers of great cities of the past and engage in the development of ancient civilizations and the construction of wonders of the world. Participants receive unique tablets of wonders of the world. The game lasts three rounds-eras. Each era uses a special deck of cards. At the beginning of the era, players are given seven random cards.
The game uses the draft mechanic, which is known to be the best way to deal with the random arrival of cards. The draft in the game is honed to perfection and brought to an absolute. This is not a separate phase of choosing and passing cards, as in many other games. Having chosen one card, players simultaneously reveal them and perform actions. The remaining cards in their hands are passed and received in a circle: in the first and third rounds clockwise, and in the second round - counterclockwise.
Gameplay
In each era, players make 6 moves. Having chosen and revealed a card, the player can:
- lay out this card as a structure, spending the necessary resources or coins. There are also free cards. If players do not have enough resources, they can buy them from their neighbors (two coins for each resource). Brown resource cards and gray goods cards are placed on top of the board - placed one under the other so that the resources being produced are visible. The remaining cards are placed in the playing area, grouped by color.
- build a part of the wonder of the world. After paying the construction cost, the selected card is turned face up and moved under the corresponding stage cell at the bottom of the board.
- discard and receive three coins.
On the sixth turn, each player receives two cards - one is played and the other is discarded. After this, the era ends.
End of the era
Players sum up the shields on their red cards and compare the results with their neighbors on the left and right. If the sum is greater than that of the neighbor, the player receives a victory token (Epoch I - 1 point, Epoch II - 3 points, Epoch III - 5 points). If the sum is less than that of the neighbor, the player takes a defeat token - minus one victory point. In case of a tie, the players do not receive any tokens.
End of the game
After the third epoch, the players count the points scored:
- military conflicts.It is necessary to sum up the points on the received victory and defeat tokens;
- treasury contents.Every three coins is one victory point;
- wonders of the world.Victory points are indicated at the bottom of the board.
- civil buildings. Victory points are indicated on blue cards.
- Scientific buildings. Points for sets of the same/different symbols on green cards.
- Trade buildings. Points on trade buildings of the third era.
- Guilds. Points are awarded for certain buildings, stages of the wonder of the world, and defeat tokens in neighboring cities.
The player with the most points is the winner.
