Board Game Karak
Go on a treasure hunt with your friends and try to collect as many gems as possible in this dungeon exploration adventure game. The location for exploration will each time consist of tiles in a random order and the monsters will also meet the heroes unexpectedly and in a different sequence. Beware that an unprepared hero will not immediately encounter the terrible red dragon, defeating which ends the game!
Uncover the Secrets of Karak Castle
Glorified in terrible legends and surrounded by incredible rumors, this castle stands in the middle of a vast wasteland. For many years in a row, its majestic halls have remained empty. Few dare even approach its walls. Everyone knows that the dungeon hidden under this ancient structure is full of treasures and not very pleasant inhabitants: skeletons, spiders, giant rats and even mummies. Rumor has it that somewhere in the depths of these winding corridors, someone gigantic, winged and very unfriendly is hiding!
Game flow
All players start the game on the starting tile of the dungeon. During the game, they will explore room and corridor tiles, fight enemies, open treasure chests, use portals and restore strength in nourishing fountains.
As you wander through the dungeon, you will:
- Discover new room and corridor tiles. When you open a room, add one token to it from the corresponding bag. If it`s a chest, you can unlock it using the key (if you have one) and take the hidden treasures. If it`s a monster, a fight will ensue, winning which will earn you new armor, a spell scroll, or a weapon. You may also come across a nourishing fountain or portal and use them to your advantage and discretion.
- Move through already open areas of the dungeon. In this case, you can try your hand at a duel with a monster that one of the other players failed to defeat, pick up armor, a scroll, or a weapon left behind by someone, or even open a treasure chest that a less fortunate hero failed to deal with. You can also take advantage of open fountains and portals.
Combat in the game
If your hero encounters a monster in an open hall, you will have to fight it. During a clash, you must roll both dice and add the strength value of each piece of equipment on the fighter or spell board to the result of the roll. You can also spend a magic charge, which is then reset to the common supply. The result is compared with the monster`s strength. Depending on the result, the battle can end:
- Victory,if the final value is higher than the monster`s strength. In this case, you get the monster`s equipment and can place it on your board. If there is not enough space on it, you can choose which piece of equipment will remain on the dungeon floor. Another player can pick up this equipment tile.
- Draw,if your strength value is equal to the monster`s strength. The monster remains in place, but the hero must return to the tile from which he entered this room.
- Defeat if you were unable to exceed the monster`s strength value. Your hero is wounded (flip one health token on the board with the skull facing up) and returns one tile back. The monster remains in the room in which you encountered it.
If the hero has lost the last unit of health, he skips the next turn to restore one token.
Fire-breathing and vicious
The appearance of a dragon is always a significant event! After all, every hero wants to defeat someone fire-breathing and big at least once in his life. And on top of that, you can get a rare ruby, worth one and a half victory points!
As soon as one of the participants manages to defeat the winged creature, the game ends, and the winner is not the most successful dragon slayer, but the richest treasure chest explorer!
