A collection of famous logical board games in one metal box.
These are chess, checkers, backgammon, dominoes and tic-tac-toe.
Classic abstract games with all the necessary components: playing fields, figures, checkers and dice.
Chess
A game with a history of one and a half years, which originated in India and was modified in Arab countries. Now chess is a very popular sport with its own federation and regular international tournaments. It is an abstract dueling game in which opponents control symmetrical sets of pieces. The game is played on an eight-by-eight board. Participants take turns. Victory is awarded to the one who kills the opponent`s king (or, scientifically speaking, puts checker and checkmate).
All figures, except for the horse, move in a straight line. The king moves anywhere one cell away. The queen-queen moves any distance diagonally, vertically or horizontally. Rook - for any distance orthogonally, and bishop-officer - diagonally. A foreign piece is removed from the field if it is in the way. The horse walks in the form of the letter G or L, it is able to jump over other figures. Unlike the older pieces, the pawn moves one square forward, and hits diagonally.
Checkers
A dueling abstract game played on an eight-by-eight board. Players place twelve of their checkers on the dark cells of the board. They take turns. Checkers move forward diagonally. They also hit diagonally - both forward and backward, if the next cell behind the opponent`s figure is empty. The checker jumps to this cell, and the beaten piece is removed from the field. The fight is mandatory. You can eliminate several enemy checkers in one move. If a checker reaches the opposite side of the board, it becomes a checker. The checker walks (and hits) any distance diagonally. The winner is the one who manages to destroy all the checkers of the opponent.
Backgammon
An abstract racing game for two players. Throwing dice, players try to move their checkers around the circle as quickly as possible, bring them to their "home" and bring it out of the board. Players take turns. The active player rolls a pair of dice. The values that have fallen out determine the number of steps. Takes double the number of steps. Any checkers can be moved. If all checkers fall into their house, the player moves them off the board. As before, he rolls the dice and removes checkers from those cells that correspond to the values that have fallen.
Dominoes
An abstract game for two to four players that came either from India or China. The game uses rectangular tiles divided into two halves. On the halves of the tiles there are values from 0 to 6. At the beginning of the game, players receive a certain number of such tiles. They are stored in the valleys. Players take turns. The active player needs to continue the common row in the center of the table by attaching a tile with a value that matches one of the ends of the chain. If the player does not have a suitable tile, he skips the turn and selects a tile from the supply. The winner is the one who gets rid of all his tiles. Or the one who will have a smaller sum of values on the remaining tiles.
Tic-tac-toe
A super fast logic game for two players. The game is played on a three-on-three field. Participants take turns putting their "crosses" on the board. and "zeros". The winner is the one who is the first to make a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row of three of his figures.
