In the Victorian era, people invented an interesting way to secretly communicate with friends and loved ones. When it was impossible to talk about their feelings openly, they conveyed secret messages using elegant and sophisticated flower arrangements. Now you can create bouquets to communicate in the language of flowers.
Learn the Language of Flowers
This is a quick family game that takes participants to Victorian England and invites them to make flower arrangements.
Gameplay
The game uses 18 cards, which are shuffled into one deck. The game lasts 3 rounds.
At the end of the round, players turn over the cards in the compositions lying face down and perform the actions indicated on the cards.
Each heart on the cards brings 1 point. There may also be additional conditions on the cards for obtaining victory points.
After the third round, the winner is determined – The player with the most points wins.
Addition "Orange Flowers"
Soft, pastel colors of the bouquet are great, but if you want to attract attention, you should add a little orange to your composition. Florists know that a well-placed daylily can be the highlight of a bouquet. However, if everyone constantly adds orange flowers, the compositions will lose their uniqueness. So follow the fashion, but know the measure.
Add 4 cards of orange flowers to the main deck and play according to the usual rules.
Addition "Greenery"
To create the most beautiful bouquet, flowers are often framed with decorative greenery. Long stems of roses will probably never go out of style, and the added fern will only emphasize the beauty of the flowers. But don`t overdo it with greenery - don`t forget that this is still a flower arrangement.
Add any 4 green cards to the main deck. Set aside the remaining card. If you are playing with the "Orange Flowers" expansion, use all 5 green cards. Play according to the usual rules.
"Ribbons" expansion
When you give someone a bouquet, why not tie it with a beautiful ribbon? A properly selected ribbon will tell a lot about your feelings and emphasize the beauty of the bouquet. This gesture will not go unnoticed.
If you are not playing with the "Greens" expansion, set aside the green ribbon card. Shuffle the ribbon cards and reveal several cards depending on the number of players: 1 card for one or two players, 2 cards - for three and 3 cards - for four. Place the exposed cards face up next to the deck, set the rest aside.
Play according to the normal rules. At the end of the round, players score points for their compositions and for the exposed ribbon cards. In the event of a tie on the ribbon cards, all candidates score points (except for the green ribbon card).
