Board Game Dune - Imperium. Bloodlines
How far will you go to preserve your dynasties?
The great Houses of the Imperium rise and fall. Emperors build dynasties, the Bene Gesserit make prophecies come true, alliances form and fall, and leaders must ask themselves: how far are they willing to go to preserve their bloodlines?
This expansion for the games «Dune - Imperium» and «Dune - Imperium. Uprising» expands the gameplay with powerful new tools to achieve victory. You will recruit Sardaukar commanders to strengthen your military might, and research new technology tiles. Nine new leaders with unique properties, Imperium and Intrigue cards, contracts, and even a new location that is used in the game with one of the leaders of this expansion await you.
For ardent fans of Frank Herbert`s universe, we also recommend paying attention to the asymmetrical military strategy "Dune - War for Arrakis" and the detective quest "Dune - House Secrets".
Sardaukar Officers
Before the game starts, you place figures or tokens (of your choice) of Sardaukar officers in certain locations and create a supply of officer skill tokens. During the game, when you send an agent to a location with a Sardaukar officer, you can spend two Solariums to purchase and immediately hire that officer, as well as receive one skill token.
An officer is a "squad" that grants two power points in conflict and acts much the same as any other unit. However, to hire an officer from your supply, you will also have to pay two Solariums.
All of your officer skills are active as long as at least one of your officers is in the conflict zone. These skills can give you bonuses when revealing cards or additional power points in combat.
Leaders
The expansion contains nine new leaders, namely:
- Peter de Vries. A Mentat and master schemer who wields his own special deck of intricate intrigues.
- Chani. A Fremen whose superior tactics allow him to receive rewards when his units retreat or are lost.
- Esmar Tuek. A smuggler who introduces the special location of "Sich Tuek" into the game and receives bonuses when someone sends an agent there.
- Hasimir Fenring. A Mentat assassin who receives solariums for destroying cards.
- Yir’kun`s Helmsman. A Guild Navigator who uses special navigation cards when he reaches "2" on the faction tracks.
- Lieth-Kains. Arrakis Planetologist, who instead of summoning sandworms destroys the card and receives spices and an intrigue card.
- Gaia Elena Mogiam. The Reverend Mother of the Bene Gesserit and the Emperor`s own truth-teller, who can send a spy agent with every card in the deck.
- Duncan Idaho. A swordsman who can get his third agent cheaper, and also place the sent agent in the conflict zone.
- Kota Audax. A special leader that you can only use in a game with the «Technology» module.
Other innovations
- The «Technology» module. This module provides access to Ixian technology and machines, which you may have already partially familiarized yourself with in the “Rise of X”. On the turn you send an agent to a location with a green pentagon symbol, you can purchase a technology tile from the Ixian Embassy field. These tiles have various properties and useful bonuses that apply at different points in the game. You can combine the “Technology” module with the “Rise of X” expansion to have even more technology tiles in play.
- New symbols on cards. The deep cover spy symbol allows you to place a spy, ignoring opponent spies. The text “Order (6+)” in the reveal cells allows you to apply an additional effect if you have six or more persuasion points this turn. The combat symbol on the maps allows you to deploy units as if you had sent an agent to a combat location.
