A merciless battle for Night City
This is a action-packed strategy battle game inspired by the popular video game "Cyberpunk 2077". The game takes place in a futuristic Californian metropolis called Night City, immersed in the chaos of lawlessness and a ruthless battle for power over this glittering hole.
Basic concepts
- Gangs. Each gang has its own tablet, unique abilities and winning strategies. In the box you will find the components of four gangs: "Tiger Claws", "Valentinos", "Voodooists" and "Whirlwind".
- Ordinary fighters. Ordinary fighters are the basis of every gang. It is they who interact with the residents of Night City and solve the simplest tasks. There are three classes of regular fighters: solos, who participate in firefights and take out enemy fighters, technicians, who collect drones, use opportunities and hire snipers, and networkers, who acquire corporate secrets and other bonuses.
- Special fighters. The drones associated with the techs help the gang to secure positions and keep other fighters up and running. Border guards with unique abilities will fight on the side of the gang that hired them for a fee.
- Resources. There are 3 types of resources in the game: Eurodollars - the official currency of Night City, contraband - containers of illegal content such as cyberware or weapons, and corporate secrets - a wildcard resource that can be spent in place of other resources.
- Battle cards. Battle cards are used during a firefight. These cards display weapons, cyberware, and hacks that give fighters an edge in battle. Each player starts the game with the same set of battle cards, which can be exchanged for improved and more powerful cards during the game.
- Opportunity cards. These are underground deals that gangs make. To use them, you need to pay with contraband. When the player uses the ability, he increases his level of street reputation and also earns additional rewards.
- Points of influence. Locations that can be captured by an ordinary fighter or a ranger. On the playing field there are influence points of the following types: reference book, business and data fortress.
- Presence and dominance. Presence and Dominance determine what rewards a player receives during recovery.
Game layout overview
Players take turns performing moves until they meet the end-game conditions. The active player makes one of two types of moves:
- Activation. During his turn, the player can perform one or two actions. There are a total of six types of actions, each of which has a corresponding action token:
- solo activation - A player can move his solos and also start a firefight in the same area where there is a friendly solo and an enemy fighter. During a shootout, players choose a combat card from their hand, lay it face down, simultaneously turn over and compare the results, and lose fighters accordingly;
- tech activation - the player can move their techs and drones and then, depending on the influence points the player controls, they can use the opportunity or hire a melee fighter;
- activation of networkers - the player can move his networkers, get corporate secrets, move the marker along the Network track and apply the corresponding effects;
- building a hideout - the player can build hideouts, which are necessary to dominate the area and increase the number of fighters;
- battle card improvements - improved battle cards can have special effects that affect certain steps of the firefight;
- universal action - the player can perform any action.
- Recovery. During recovery, the player can return used action tokens, collect rewards from districts, and recruit new fighters to the gang.
End of the game
The game ends if one of the gangs has reached a division of "25" on the street reputation track, or if the condition of the story epilogue is fulfilled. Unless otherwise stated in the story epilogue, the gang with the highest street reputation wins.
