THE CIVIL WAR CONTINUES…
This is an epic strategy with a bunch of high-quality figures about the primordial struggle between the Imperials and the Rebels, based on episodes IV-VI of the canonical "Star Wars" saga. In general, this is a duel game, but it is possible to play three or four. The action of the game unfolds in the midst of the civil war. The Empire has already built its Death Star, but the Rebel Alliance, hiding in a secret base, is preparing for a massive uprising that will cover the entire galaxy. It is clear that the Imperials need bloody noses to find this center of resistance.
ASYMMETRIC FRACTIONS
At the beginning of the game, the participants choose the sides for which they will play. The Empire and Alliance factions are completely asymmetric. They have their own missions and victory conditions, unique leader skills, special card decks, different types of figures, and different starting force schedules. After deciding on factions, players place their four leaders in the reserve cell on the faction sheets. Players build all the necessary decks for the game – actions, missions, objectives, tactics, etc. – and then place troops and loyalty tokens on the field. The rebels secretly choose a card of the system for their secret base.
PHASE OF THE ROUND
The game consists of rounds. Rounds are divided into assignment, orders and recovery phases. In the assignment phase, players lay out the face-up mission cards from their hand and place leaders from the reserve on them. In the orders phase, players take turns doing one of two things: moving their troops with an inactive leader (scientifically, activating the system) or opening a mission with a designated leader.
In the recovery phase, players return leaders to the reserve, draw new mission cards, and advance the construction queue. Ready troops go to the systems. The player for the Empire launches scout droids, that is, opens two cards of systems on which there is definitely no rebel base. The Alliance player selects an objective card. Participants move the token along the timeline to start a new round.
SYSTEM ACTIVATION
The playing field consists of thirty-two systems - planets and the surrounding space. With system activation actions, the player puts a reserve leader into the system and calls any ships from nearby systems. The ships can carry ground troops and fighter jets. If one of the players moves his troops into a system with the opponent`s troops, a battle begins. When Imperial ground forces find themselves in a system where a Rebel base is hidden, the Alliance player must uncover their base.
OPENING MISSION
The player reads their mission card aloud and places the leader in the system. The adversary can send their reserve leader into the system to prevent the mission from being completed. Players roll the dice and count the "successes" that are rolled. To successfully complete a mission, the player must roll more "successes" than his opponent. Otherwise, the attempt ends in failure.
FIGHT
Fight begins after the activation action, when enemy troops meet in the system. If there is no leader in the system with a tactic value, it can be added to the battle. Each player takes as many tactics cards as the value of their leader`s tactics. The battle can take place in space or on a planet. In the first case, ships fight, and in the second - ground troops. The battle consists of rounds, it ends when one of the players loses all his ships and troops.
Participants roll dice, play tactics cards or select new ones, if the face on the die allows it. Players then deal damage to opposing figures by laying out the corresponding cards and dice in front of them. Damage can be blocked by other cards. If the amount of damage dealt to a figure equals or exceeds its stamina value, the figure is destroyed. Before the start of the next round of battle, each player can retreat with a leader and troops to a nearby friendly system.
CONDITIONS OF VICTORY
The Empire player wins if they conquer a system with a rebel base. The Alliance player wins if the reputation token meets the time token on the corresponding track. The primary way to increase Rebel reputation is through objective cards.
