A Storm in the White Wastes

The ice creaks under heavy boots, the frosty air burns the lungs. In the distance, behind the white curtain of a blizzard, a dull roar is heard - rhythmic, inevitable. This is not the wind. These are the footsteps of death.

From the snowy trenches, the rebels peer into the white horizon - giant steel walkers bring death. The Rebel Alliance takes to the skies its best pilots - small snow speeders against the invincible power of the Empire. The battle for Goth begins.

This is a duel military strategy with detailed figures in the world of the cult space saga. Take command of the Rebel forces desperately fighting for survival, or lead the mighty army of the Empire, relentlessly advancing. Manage your troops, use attack dice, and play command cards to defeat enemy forces. Feel like a real strategist in the battle on the ice planet!

Gameplay

The game offers 17 unique scenarios in which your goal is to earn a certain number of victory medals or fulfill special victory conditions. Victory medals are awarded for each completely destroyed enemy unit on the battlefield.

The game contains 6 sets of leader cards that will diversify the gameplay. The leaders include legendary heroes and villains: Darth Vader, Maximilian Wirst, and Firmus Piett for the Empire, and Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, and Han Solo for the Rebel Alliance. 

All battles take place on a grid of squares. Players take turns, and their turn consists of the following steps:

1. Play a Command Card. Place a Command Card face up. It allows you to give orders to your troops to move units and launch attacks.
2. Give Orders. Announce all units you are giving orders to. The number of units is indicated on the played Command Card.
3. Move Units. Move units that have been given orders the number of spaces according to the type of unit.
4. Attack with units. Make sure the target is within attack range and line of sight. Select the attacking unit and follow these steps:

• Declare the attacking unit and select its target.
• Calculate the number of attack dice based on the unit type, distance to the target, and terrain modifiers. If the terrain provides protection, reduce the number of attack dice.
• Roll the dice and play the results: first score hits, then retreat, moving the unit towards the baseline.

5. Draw a new command card. Your turn is complete.

The game continues until one of the players has collected the required number of Victory Medals specified in the victory conditions of the selected scenario.

In addition to the standard game mode, «Star Wars: The Battle for Goth» also offers two dynamic multi-scenario campaigns in which your victories and defeats will affect subsequent battles, and a team mode for 3-4 players.
