An interesting card wargame from a Ukrainian manufacturer. This simple and short game will appeal to fans of fantasy battles. It is best suited for playing together. Blitz formats (up to 10 victory points), tyrant (1 player against two) and team mode (2 on 2) are also provided.
Asymmetric card strategy
Players become feudal lords who fight for the throne of some fantasy kingdom. Everyone gets unique mercenary decks. Forest Folk, Light Order, Greenskins and The Walking Dead are available in the base game.
Opponents start the game in castles on their side of the playing field. Decks of buildings and spells are shuffled. 5 cards are opened from each deck. Also, next to the field, you need to lay out dungeon cards - 5 descent cards and 1 lair card.
Players draw 5 cards per hand from their decks. They receive 5 order tokens each. They place 2 stockade cards in their castles.
Game flow
Participants take turns. The active player`s move consists of the following steps:
Obtaining profit, bonuses and going down into dungeons
The player receives 5 coins, 2 mana and bonuses from controlled key locations. The gold mine gives 2 coins, the library gives 1 mana, the workshop restores 2 health to any structure, and the healing fountain restores 2 life to any creature. Altar of Curses allows you to magically attack an enemy creature, war camp gives +3 to attack, and rift drains 2 life from creatures on it.
A mercenary on a dungeon cage can go down there. The first closed card in the dungeon row opens. The player fulfills the requirements of this card, discards it and puts a mercenary card in its place. Orders can be given to a mercenary in a dungeon. Each order token moves him one card closer to the lair. After opening the card of the lair, the mercenary receives the specified rewards.
Hiring creatures and buying buildings
To hire a mercenary, the player pays the value of the mercenary card in hand and puts the card on the hire line (the first line of the castle). A maximum of 2 mercenary cards can lie on the hiring line.
Buildings are bought in a row of buildings - for coins. Cards are placed on the territory of the player`s castle. Scrolls with spells are bought in a row of spells - for mana. The purchased spell card must be used until the end of the turn.
Distribution of orders
The player places 5 order tokens on their unit and structure cards.
Activation of units
The player removes orders from unit cards and activates them. A creature must first move a number of cells in a straight line equal to its speed, then use abilities and attack targets in front of it. The building doesn`t move, but allows you to use its property and attack enemy units. The unit deals damage to the enemy`s card according to its attack power. The appropriate number of damage tokens is placed on the card. If the number of damage tokens on a card equals the health of a creature or structure, that card is discarded.
Resetting and card selection
You can discard one mercenary from your hand. Then arrange the cards so that there are exactly 5 cards in the hand.
