The Battle of the Scottish Clans

This is a fast-paced dueling strategy game about the confrontation of Scottish clans. Players are invited to fight for the boundary stones between their possessions. To win the game, you need to control 5 of any stones or 3 adjacent ones.

Before the game starts, 9 stone tiles are laid out in a row between the players. Players shuffle their clan decks and take 6 cards from them into their hand. Each clan card is a fighter of one of six colors with a strength value from 1 to 9.

Game progress

The opponents take turns. On their turn, the player selects a card from their hand and places it face up next to the stone on their side. A stone can have a maximum of 3 cards on one side.

If there are 3 cards on each side next to a stone, the player can capture that stone. The player can also try to capture a stone next to which the opponent has not yet played 3 cards, if he can prove the superiority of his combination, regardless of what cards the opponent plays.

After laying out a card from his hand, the player takes a new card from his deck and passes the turn to the opponent.

Capturing a stone

To capture a stone, the player`s combination of cards must be stronger than the opponent`s combination of cards.

Strength of combinations (from strongest to weakest):

• Single-color row. Three cards of the same color with a continuous sequence of strength values.
• Three of a Kind. Three cards with the same strength value.
• Color. Three cards of the same color.
• Row. Three cards of any color with a continuous sequence of strength values.
• Sum. Three cards of any color.

If a player has captured 5 of any stones or 3 adjacent ones, he wins.

Tactics Cards

If you want to make the game more strategic, you can play with tactics cards. When a player draws a new card, he can take a card from the clan or tactics deck. Each tactic card has a special effect and belongs to one of three categories:

1. Elite Fighters. Allows you to choose a color and/or strength value.
2. Battle Modes. Sum of card values ​​instead of combinations or 4 cards on both sides of the stone.
3. Tricks. Allows you to take new cards from the decks, move cards to other stones, discard opponent`s tactic cards, or drag clan cards to your side.
