Board Game Qomet
Time for a bit of strategic thinking, don`t you agree? This puzzle is designed for two players; each will attempt to form a square of any size using the connecting lines. At the start of the game, each player has 7 stars. On your turn, you can either place a new star of your color on the board or move a star of your color that you placed previously. When moving a star, it shifts to the next cell along the line.
If that cell is empty, nothing else happens, and you pass the turn to your opponent. If the cell is occupied, you push the star currently there, regardless of its color. There are two rules to remember: first, you cannot push two or more stars at once—only one; and second, stars can easily be pushed off the edge of the board—provided you push them correctly, of course!
MECHANICS
- grid movement — moving pieces or tokens across a defined grid of cells, following specific rules regarding direction and movement range;
- point-to-point movement — moving pieces from one predetermined point to another along connected paths;
- pattern building — players create specific shapes, layouts, or compositions using game components, aiming for the most efficient placement. Points or bonuses usually depend on how well the assembled pattern meets specific criteria;
- pushing pieces —
an interaction where one game element forcibly changes the position of another, sometimes even removing it from the game or off the board;
- space control — competing for influence over specific areas of the board. Players try to secure advantageous positions and limit their opponents` actions;
- tactical planning — making decisions based on the current situation on the board and the potential consequences of upcoming moves;
- direct confrontation — actions taken by one player that directly affect the capabilities, resources, or plans of other participants.
Explaining the rules is very easy: you could say it’s like a complex, abstract version of Tic-Tac-Toe.
But is the game itself easy? You’ll certainly have plenty to think about regarding strategy as you figure out how to ruin your opponent`s dream square! Thanks to its short play sessions, this game is perfect for a quick match between longer games.
Designed for fans of logic-based duels, this game guarantees matches that are quick yet deep in substance.
