Board Game Kinfire Delve - Scorn`s Stockade
This is a cooperative card strategy game for players who will play the roles of seekers who, on the orders of the Guild, set off to one of the Wells of Atios. The seekers must descend to the very bottom to reach the owner of the Well and prevent him from escaping into the real world. You have to wisely use the skills of the heroes, help each other overcome numerous trials and burn your way with the flames of kinfire.
How to play
After preparations, one of the 3 boss card variants should be placed in the center of the table, surrounded on four sides by cards from the Well deck. Each player places the selected seeker card, his lantern and the skill deck in their playing area, after which they draw a starting hand from it. Participants take turns making moves until they reach the ultimate goal of the game — defeat the boss — or are not defeated by card effects or a shared health tracker that has stopped at zero.
On their turn, a player must choose one of the face-up Well of Atios cards to interact with. There are two types of cards: Events and Challenges. If it is an Event, simply follow its instructions. If it is a Challenge, you will have to overcome it in 4 steps, based on the results of which you will place progress tokens on that Challenge in order to exceed its difficulty indicator:
- If desired, play 1 of the skill cards from your hand of the same color as the Challenge, or a white joker card. At this step, you can use the property of your lantern instead of a skill, which is inactive at the beginning of the game, but can be charged with other cards.
- Other players can strengthen the card you played with their own skills of the corresponding color, adding progress tokens. During the turn, the seeker can be strengthened up to 2 times.
- Roll 4 dice. For each result that matches the color of the Trial, you gain 1 progress token.
- All tokens obtained during the turn are placed on the Trial card. If their number is greater than or equal to the difficulty, the Trial is passed. Get the reward, put the card in the discard pile and replace it with a new one from the deck. If there are not enough tokens, you fail and receive a penalty. Trials and tokens remain in place.
At the end of the turn, the player discards the cards used, but does not replenish his hand. To gain new skills, he must draw an Exhaustion card, which has negative effects and can lead to a loss. Under certain circumstances, it can be discarded.
As soon as the Well deck is depleted, the boss card is turned over and surrounded by four Challenge cards. All of them are Trials. At the beginning, the boss is invulnerable to all types of damage, but overcoming Challenges can reveal his weaknesses.
