A new edition of «Kemet», one of the best strategy games with territory control mechanics. This version of the game boasts refined rules and improved design, a more thoughtful playing field and enlarged miniatures. The game has become much more diverse thanks to a larger number of power tiles (black / onyx tiles have been added), new creatures and mercenaries, new tokens and so on.
The quintessence of territory control
A delicate combat strategy with territory control mechanics. This is one of the most beautiful games, the miniatures and design deserve the highest praise. Few games can match the depth and sophistication of tactical tools. Participants will mostly have to fight. Development will undoubtedly bear fruit later, but sometimes everything can be overturned by successful maneuvers of opponents in the early stages.
Pyramids in the city
Egyptian civil strife takes place on a picturesque desert field. The field is double-sided. Depending on the number of participants, different field configurations are used. Players choose the gods they will represent - Anubis, Horus, Bastet, Wadjet or Sobek, take tablets and components of the corresponding colors. In the districts of the selected cities, they place the first levels of pyramids (no more than 2 levels in one district) and troops (5 warriors in two districts).
Glory points
To win the game, you need to get 9 glory points. Players gain permanent glory points for winning battles, controlling temples and the sanctuary of the gods during the night phase, and purchasing certain power tiles. Temporary points are awarded for controlling temples and level 4 pyramids. If a player starts their turn with 9 permanent and/or temporary glory points, they immediately become the winner.
Day and Night
The game round is divided into two phases - day and night. During the day, players play action tokens. At night, they sacrifice warriors in the sanctuary/temples to gain glory/prayer points, gain glory points for controlling temples, and receive prayer points and help cards from the gods. Then they establish a new order of moves in order of increasing fame points.
Performing actions
Initially, players have five action tokens. They can have more if they are lucky enough to get gold or silver tokens. In turn order, players place their tokens on the free cells depicted on the pyramid boards and immediately perform the following actions:
Battles
Players choose two battle cards, keep one and discard the other. They can place any number of divine aid cards under the chosen card. The opponents reveal their cards simultaneously. First, they calculate their combat strength by adding the soldiers in the army and the strength value on the card. Combat strength can also be increased by monster creatures, power tiles and divine aid cards.
The strongest player wins. Then the troops suffer inevitable losses and normal losses minus the total defense value. As a result, the winner may lose the entire army, and the loser, having a larger army, will be forced to retreat or recall his soldiers to the reserve for the sake of prayer points. To receive a permanent combat point, the winner must have at least one soldier left. In addition, the winner must have been an attacker. However, some power tiles allow the defender to receive victory points if he wins.
