Board Game HUTAN - Life in the Rainforest

The rainforest fascinates with its beauty. The variety of colors, plants, and animals makes it a microcosm on planet Earth. It seems that the entire ecosystem is thought out to the smallest detail. One thing did not exist without the other, and it is here that this balance is felt, where everything is in its place and serves to create a harmonious center for everyone`s life in the forest. Do you want to try to create this perfect island of nature?

This is a family board game that offers you to create your own rainforest. You will be able to practice planting flowers, planting trees, and attracting animals. The main mechanics of the game are simple - placing tiles on the boards. So, before starting the game, carefully study your territory, which will soon turn into a bright corner of our planet.

How to play?

Each player receives 4 pieces of land in their possession - rainforest boards. They can be combined in any way. Next, 9 piles of flower cards are laid out - 1 pile per round - and flower, tree and animal tokens.

The first player performs the following actions:

• takes the pangolin token;
• forms the market;
• chooses a pile of flowers;
• turns the pile of heads over.

Each round, players take 2 turns. Each turn consists of 3 phases:

1. Planting flowers.
2. Growing trees and completing cells.
3. Ideal conditions or attracting animals.

To plant flowers, you need to:

• choose a flower card;
• take flower tokens of the corresponding color from the supply;
• place flowers adjacently, that is, horizontally or vertically one from another, but not diagonally.

Furthermore, flowers of the same color can and should be laid out one on top of another. Then you will be able to replace the top flower with a tree. The tropical forest boards are divided into cells, they have from 2 to 5 cells, separated by water. If this cell is filled with flowers of the same color, you will have additional points for them. The last upper flower in such a cell is not filled with a tree, but with an animal of the corresponding color.

Unfinished cells or those with different colors will deduct victory points from you.

End of the game

The game ends after the 9th round. Then all the flower cards are exhausted and everyone counts their points for:

• trees — 2 VP for each tree;
• animals — the number of VP is indicated on the paw symbol in the cell;
• completed cells — the points indicated on it.

And points are deducted for unfinished or multi-colored. The winner is the one who best manages to create a balanced and well-thought-out rainforest ecosystem.
