Vila

Vila is a magical creature from Ukrainian demonology that represents the elements of air and forest. She is depicted as a beautiful young woman with long flowing hair that shines like silver or gold and reaches the ground. She is dressed in light transparent clothing or an outfit made of mist that flows behind her as she moves. Elves have magical powers: they can control the weather, cause storms or calm the wind, and heal or punish people.

Elves live on high mountains, in dense forests or near bodies of water, and their places are considered sacred. They are able to transform into different animals, such as birds or deer, and dance in a circle with other pitchforks, leaving behind magic circles where the grass turns bright green. Their singing is enchanting, and after hearing it, a person can fall under their influence.

Elves can be both benevolent and dangerous. If a person happens to see a villa or enter its territory without permission, it can impose a curse or induce illness. At the same time, if the fairy is honored or helped, she can thank you, heal from an illness, or even bestow a gift. It is known that vilas especially respect people who protect nature and live in harmony with it.

In order not to provoke the wrath of the weasel, people tried to avoid her places of residence, especially at night. It was believed that disturbing the peace of the villa could lead to punishment - from bad luck to physical illnesses. Sometimes, to appease the villa, small gifts - flowers, bread or milk - were left in the forest or near the spring.

The image of the villa personifies the natural beauty and power of the elements, as well as the connection between man and nature, which requires respect and honor.
