Board Game Lords of Ragnarok

Eternal conflict in the Scandinavian kingdom

Before you is an atmospheric asymmetrical game about devastated lands, fierce monsters and the blessings of the Scandinavian Gods. To win, it is enough to fulfill one of three conditions:

• control all regions,
• control 5 regions with built temples,
• or kill Boss Loki.

The game also ends if Ragnarok comes, which is approaching by the construction of Monuments: in this case, the player who controls the largest number of regions adjacent to the central area of Yggdrasil wins.

Preparation for the game Lords of Ragnarok

The playing field is divided into Regions, Kingdoms, Seas and the Action Wheel in the center. Some regions have Monument pedestals that can be built to obtain Divine bonuses and artifacts. Players have personal boards with attribute tracks, Army and Priest miniatures, a Drakkar, and Origin cards.

Player`s Turn

1. Prayer. Send a Priest to one of the Monuments, or forge a Rune in a region with a Forge.
2. Hero. Move a Hero or Drakkar two regions or sea spaces, respectively, or heal one wound of a Hero.
3. Runic Action. Spend runes to perform an action from a Monster or Realm board, make an Alliance with a Realm to place a control marker and receive bonuses, etc.
4. Maneuvers. Activate or recruit an Army.
5. Special Actions.

Yggdrasil Action Wheel allows you to choose an additional action:

• reinforcement (hiring an Army).
• mobilization (activating armies and battles).
• preparation (additional help in the form of healing, or receiving a card or rune).
• building a temple and receiving Blessing cards.
• activating and attacking Monsters, or hunting them.
• usurping (establishing control over a neutral region, or forcing other armies to retreat).
• building a Monument (adding the next part of the miniature and recharging resources).

The basis of the Lords of Ragnarok game is hunting monsters and the Boss, as well as battles for territory between rival armies. In all cases, special Battle cards with weapon parameters, attack effects and possible losses are used. Each monster has its own board with wound slots, abilities, and rewards.

One to four players can take on the role of an epic hero and journey through deadly monsters until Ragnarok.
