Unrivaled Allies in Battle
A shadow on an insect`s wings silently glides through the night. As if out of nowhere, a saucer appears in the sky, illuminated by a green light. Only America`s strangest heroes are ready to resist the invasion of monsters. The game makes an incredible twist in the history of the series, because now it becomes cooperative!
From one to four players will be able to fight against the famous cryptids from urban legends, Nately and the Martian, as well as their assistants - the Jersey Devil, the tarantula and other monsters from "B" horror movies. All characters in this standalone game are compatible with any other part of «Unmatched».
That is, you will be able to:
- Play characters from «Tales to Amaze» in adversarial mode on the field of any other edition and against characters from other editions.
- Play characters from other parts of «Unmatched» against bosses from «Tales to Amaze».
- Play in adversarial mode with any characters on the «Tales to Amaze» field, which allows you to involve 5 participants in the game simultaneously!
Unmatched - now with solo and cooperative!
- The basic mechanics of the series regarding character control and card use remain unchanged: on their turn, the player performs any two actions – maneuver (take a card into your hand and move your fighters), trick (play a trick card), and/or attack.
- However, now players will not be facing each other, but rather non-player character monsters that look like they came straight out of an old low-budget horror movie!
- The big bosses, Netlja and the Martian, have their own victory conditions. Now, player elimination will not be the only danger, and participants will have to monitor not only the health of the characters, but also the actions of the bosses.
- The game has a dynamic card mechanic of initiative, which will add randomness to the battle and will force you to think through your moves to the smallest detail, because the location of your opponents in the cells on the field is, as always, key.
- Enemies use special decks of cards with an accessible system of selecting targets and moving, which, however, feels incredibly realistic and well simulates the actions of a live player.
- You yourself choose an enemy assistant for your party from among six monsters with various abilities, and you decide how many and which event tiles you will use in the game. Each tile adds new abilities to your enemies, so be careful with the difficulty settings!
Heroes
The game features four heroes, compatible with any other Unmatched release.
- Dr. Jill Trent, a detective scientist, and her assistant Daisy use special gadgets to attack. The heroines have two special devices in their arsenal: a hypnotic blaster and an ultrabiotic tonic.
- Christmas Annie, a folk heroine, becomes stronger when she faces an enemy with more health. The effect of this ability cannot be canceled by trickery, as it is not considered a card effect.
- Nikola Tesla, the great inventor, charges the coils with the power of alternating current to deal an energy blow to enemies.
- Goldwing, the oldest superhero, hits harder if he does not retreat: the character receives a bonus to attack if the player did not choose a maneuver action this turn.
