A quick family game about forming trains. During the game, participants will assemble trains from wagons and send them on their way using locomotive cards. Victory points are awarded for the trains sent. At the end of the game, the one who collects the most wins.
Let`s start the trains
This is a simple and short board card game. It is ideal for family gatherings. The game should be enjoyed by all participants, regardless of age or gaming experience.
Gameplay
Before the game starts, the locomotive cards are shuffled into one deck, and the wagon and action cards into another. Participants receive 4 random wagon/action cards and 1 random locomotive card. Two wagon cards are laid out in the center of the table, marking the tracks.
Participants take turns, clockwise. The active player performs 1 of 3 possible actions:
If at the end of the turn the player has no cards left in his hand, he draws either 1 card from the locomotive deck or 3 cards from the wagon/action deck.
Action cards expand strategic possibilities. The wagon card is placed on one of the tracks - to the right or left of the laid out wagon cards. The wagon can only be attached to a train of the same type. The additional track card is placed in the next row, increasing the total number of tracks.
How to send a train?
To send a train, the player places the corresponding locomotive card at the beginning or end of the row. The card indicates how many cars the locomotive can pull. High-speed locomotives pull only high-speed train cars. Cars that the locomotive cannot pull remain on the track. The player takes the sent train.
Determining the winner
Play until the cards in the decks and in the players` hands run out. Participants count points for the trains sent: add points for locomotives and cars, subtract points for fire cars, and receive additional points for high-speed locomotives and modernized cars. The player with the most points wins.
