Board Game Hidden Leaders - Forgotten Legends
A new expansion will shake up the Empire
This is the second expansion to the game «Hidden Leaders», which contains three modules that are compatible with each other and with the base game. Four forgotten descendants of the emperor understood the meaning of the legends and found mysterious artifacts. However, the hearts of the inhabitants of Oshra were filled with corruption, and who knows how the new leaders will cope with this!
Guardians - a new faction and new leaders
Before combining modules with each other, try adding only the Guardians faction to the base game. To do this, take the appropriate number of Guardian leader cards and add them to the leader cards from the base game at the beginning of the game preparations.
Features of the "Guardians" module:
- New leaders can win either according to the requirements of one of the four factions from the base game (each new leader has its own), or if the Guardian marker is ahead of both the red and green markers on the influence track. If two Guardian leaders are equal, the player with more Guardian hero cards wins.
- The new Guardian hero cards have very powerful effects, and every time someone sends such a hero to the graveyard, he also applies the properties of one of the new fate cards. However, playing such heroes always advances the Guardian marker two spaces forward on the influence track.
Foulness takes over the minds of heroes
With this module, you can radically change the balance of power in the players` squads twice per game with the help of random Foulness tokens. As soon as one of the players fulfills one of the two conditions for spreading corruption on the corresponding card, all participants, starting with that player, take one random corruption token from the bag and place it on any hero card in their own or someone else`s squad.
There are several rules regarding corruption:
- Each player can cause corruption to spread only once per game.
- If there is already a corruption token on the hero card, you cannot place a new token on the card.
- The player who caused corruption to spread also takes the token that was placed next to the fulfilled condition from the corruption card and can also place it on any hero card. If he does not, this token should be returned to the bag.
All corruption tokens (except for some Guardian tokens) are effective at the end of the game. Most of them will change the hero`s faction to the one shown on the card, and only the Loyalty token doubles the card`s faction points when scoring. Tokens with the Guardian symbol add special rules to the game regarding hero burial: they can protect the hero corrupted by this token from burial or replace him with another hero. The Guardian token is then returned to the bag. If such a token remains on the card until the end of the game, this hero is considered a Guardian hero in addition to the main faction.
Artifacts - a legendary legacy
At the beginning of the game with this module, each participant will receive one random artifact card, the properties of which can be used several times during the game.
- Participants choose which side of their artifact to use.
- At the beginning of the game, each player places on their artifact card the number of artifact tokens that are depicted on this card.
- Each of these tokens is one activation of the card. Participants can discard one token from a card during their turn to activate its property.
- You can only activate an artifact once per turn.
- An additional rule is the activation time: artifacts with a lightning symbol can be activated during the first step of your turn, artifacts with an hourglass - during the fourth step.
