BAPPET BIRD IN HANDS OR SHIP IN SKY
Atmospheric party game with "push your luck" mechanics. The board game "Celestia" was released in 2015. In fact, it is a reworked version of "Cloud 9", an older game by the same author, invented back in 1999. In 2015-16, "Celestia" became a finalist of the "Jocul Anului în România" competition, a nominee of "Tric Trac" and "Gioco dell`Anno". According to PlayTale, "Celestia" is ideal for playing in a friendly or family circle.
CRAP-BREAKING ADVENTURES
According to legend, Lemuel Gulliver was looking for Celestia, but never found it. But the author of this game, Aaron Weisblum, succeeded: he recreated the beautiful Celestia with its amazing islands and cities flying high in the sky. All the players have to do is take their seats on board the flying ship and go in search of treasures. Of course, not everything is as smooth as PlayTale makes it out to be. Players must be prepared for various difficulties - fogs and storms, attacks of birds and pirates. But the brave will NOT be afraid, and the risky will drink champagne.
DANGER DICE
Oval city tiles are laid out in ascending order of numbers. At the beginning of the game, an airship with traveler tokens is placed on the tile of the first city. Players receive starting cards, choose a captain and begin their journey. The game is divided into rounds. In each round, the captain of the ship rolls as many dice as are indicated on the tile of the next city.
Obstacles are depicted on all faces of the cubes, except for the empty one. To overcome them, the captain must use cards. If there is fog, the captain must reset the compass card. A lightning rod will save you from lightning, birds of prey can be driven away by the sound of a horn, and you can play the gun card against pirates. The turbo card allows you to ignore any danger on the die.
STOP THIS SHIP - I`LL LEAVE!
Passengers of the ship look at the faces that have fallen and decide in turn whether they go down or stay with the captain. Having decided to leave the ship, the player receives a treasure card of the current city.
POWER AND TREASURE CARDS
Power cards allow you to disembark a passenger from a ship, jump off a ship already in flight or roll the dice. There is also a "Heavy Strike" card, which forces the captain to roll dice with white faces. The Magic Spyglass treasure card moves the ship to the next city, ignoring all obstacles. The treasure cards show how many points they bring.
END OF THE GAME
The game continues until one of the travelers scores fifty or more victory points. A new round does not start. Players count points. The one who counts more wins.
