CLASSICAL ABSTRACT GAME
This is a classic abstract game, invented back in 1930 in Palestine - after the ban on cards by the British authorities. The game took a lot not only from card games, but also from dominoes and mahjong. In 1977, the game became a bestseller in the USA. Since then, the game has survived many reprints and remakes (the most famous of which is «Rummikub»).
GROUPS AND ROWS
The board game consists of 104 tiles of four suits and two jokers. All tiles are turned face down and mixed. Players take fourteen tiles and place them on stands. Next, they lay out the initial groups or rows on the table, with a total denomination of at least 30. A group is a variety of tiles with the same denomination. A row is an increasing sequence of the same suit.
RECOMBINATION
In turn order, for which exactly one minute is allocated, players recombine any groups or rows on the table, adding tiles to them from other laid out groups/rows or from their stands. If a player cannot recombine the groups/rows, he returns everything as it was and takes three penalty tiles. The joker can be used as any tile.
RUMMY!
The round continues until someone places all their tiles on the table. Satisfied with themselves, such a player shouts «Rummy!». The remaining players count the penalty points by adding up the numbers on the remaining tiles. An unused joker is minus thirty points. The winner receives as many plus points as the total penalties his opponents have accumulated. The game consists of several rounds. In the end, the player with the most plus points wins.
