Board Game Riftforce - Beyond
This is a fantastic expansion for the game "Riftforce", featuring cards for new guilds, neutral territory cards, turn-order cards for team play, challenge cards for solo play, and objective cards for both capture and attack strategies.
A New World Beyond the Rift
Discover a new world beyond the rift! A journey into the unknown awaits you. Overcome new challenges alongside allies or on your own. The expansion introduces team and solo modes, while 8 brand-new guilds add variety and expand the range of winning strategies.
Team Play
Players can compete in teams—two against two—or one player against two. At the start of the game, players lay out a row of territories between them: 3 neutral (gray) cards and 3 green cards of their choice from the base game. Then, they select their guild summoners. Each player has their own deck of elementals corresponding to their chosen guilds.
Turn order is determined by a turn-order card. Each team uses a single player marker on the power track. When the active player captures territories and draws cards, they gain power only for territories captured within their own zone (green or neutral). If a single player is facing a team of two, they gain power for territories captured in both zones.
Solo Play
At the start of the game, the player selects 4 guild summoners from a random pool of 6. Next, the player chooses 4 summoners for their virtual opponent—the Trainer. The player shuffles their own deck and the Trainer`s deck separately.
Then, the player selects one challenge each for values "5," "6," and "7" (the more stars beneath a value, the higher the Trainer`s level; challenges marked with an "&" symbol are the most difficult). The player creates a special deck using the attack and capture plan cards.
The player performs one action as usual. Then, they play the top plan card from the stack. Each card indicates a specific territory. An elemental card from the Trainer`s deck must be placed opposite that territory.
- When playing a capture plan card, the Trainer captures territories and gains power according to the standard rules.
- Each attack plan card lists a sequence of values. For each value—proceeding from left to right—the player must activate a Trainer elemental with the matching value (if possible). Each elemental can be activated only once per plan. Activating an elemental triggers the ability specified on the corresponding challenge card.
To win the solo game, the player must acquire 12 Rift Power points before the Trainer does.
