Board Game Underwater Cities
The Earth`s population is growing, and resources are becoming scarcer every day. How to deal with overpopulation on a planet seventy percent covered by water? The author suggests exploring the ocean floor and building a civilization there! But will the players manage to get out of the water dry and solve the problem?
WHO LIVES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN
To realize humanity`s audacious dream, you should learn to live in symbiosis with a complex ecosystem. At the beginning, you have a certain small set of resources, metropolis tokens, and one non-symbiotic city (non-symbiocity) with a white dome.
And here there is a considerable need for high technology: we admit, the author and artists tried their best! Only the octopus-builder with an exoskeleton attracts attention, but what about the dolphin hacker? In which movie could we see him, do you remember? In this game, the craziest dreams of a utopian future come to life.
BIG CITIES — NEITHER SHORE, NOR BOTTOM...
On the playing field in the center of the table there are slots for action tiles that you will place in them. In total, the underwater development will last 3 eras, each of which has its own deck of cards. At the beginning of the era, each player receives 6 cards and keeps 3 for himself. You also receive resources, several action tiles, a personal assistant card and a memo that will help you not to get lost in all this property.
The order of turns depends on the location of the players` markers on two tracks. The first - the turn order track - determines how the participants will move in the current round. The second - the Federation track - outlines the order of turns for the next round. Players take turns playing cards and placing action tiles on free slots. When the color of the card matches the slot, you can apply the card`s special effect. If there is no match, the card is discarded.
Thanks to the action tiles and card effects, you can obtain valuable resources: kelp, biomaterial, steelplast, science tokens, victory points, and credits. Using resources, you will build buildings that support your cities, as well as symbiote and non-symbiote cities, marked with domes of the corresponding color. They will affect the number of points you receive at the end of the game.
DELICIOUS KELP FOR BREAKFAST
Connected by tunnels, cities will provide your community with resources. This will happen during a separate production phase, which occurs three times per game. Over time, you will create a developed autonomous society and connect the underwater civilization to the coastal metropolises. You can also provide land-based cities to solve the problem of resource shortages! You can also upgrade buildings using science tokens, advance along the Federation track, and receive credit cards and activations that must be activated before being played on a slot.
When the round marker reaches the gear area, the production phase begins, at the end of which each city connected to the network must be provided with nutritious food — this will cost 1 kelp token. At the end of the last round, we add the points earned for the remaining resources and bonus cards.
