Adventurers are fascinated by the beauty of nature and are not afraid to go where other travelers have not been before. With hiking shoes, bicycle wheels, or a river paddle, they pave new paths that will be useful to other tourists.
This is a fast-paced card game of laying out looped routes, in which the most ardent tourist who is not afraid of long wanderings in the forest and confidently returns to the camps wins.
How to play?
In the game, players travel on foot, by bicycle, and by kayak. The longer the routes are laid, the more impressions they will bring, and with them the victory points. Each type of route has its own camp, where travelers can rest and share adventures.
A route is a road loop that starts at a camp of its type and returns to it.
The goal of the game is to earn as many points as possible for the routes you have completed. On routes, 1 victory point is awarded for marks at turns and intersections: bridges, embankments, waves, mud, piles of stones, and tunnels. Intersections are an interesting thing, because if the route crosses itself, the marks on it count twice. In general, the longer the route, the more points it will bring.
Another way to earn points is to complete game and final tasks. These tasks are presented at the beginning of the game, offering players certain requirements for routes that will make these routes more profitable. The faster a player completes the game tasks, the more bonus points they will receive. The tasks and their combinations vary from game to game, changing priorities and promising a diverse gaming experience.
The game lasts four rounds. Each round, except the fourth, begins with the players receiving 8 road cards, laying out one of their camps and 2 road cards. In the fourth round, the action of drawing a camp is skipped.
Road cards are laid out under certain conditions - they must be located next to already played cards or even partially overlap other cards. The remaining cards are passed to the next player - clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on the round. During one round, each player places 6 road cards.
How to diversify the game?
To complicate the game, you can play with the "Animals" add-on. This add-on – is a source of additional points for the variety of animals that travelers meet on their routes. Of course, to get these points, the route must be successfully completed, and if you get lost somewhere in the forest and don`t return to the camp, no encounters with animals will do you any good.
The game also has a solo mode with several difficulty levels, including epic, where you`ll have to really think about it to earn the number of points needed to win.
This is a card adventure game with simple rules that make you think carefully about your hiking plans.
