Board Game The Isle of Cats - Explore & Draw

A graphic version of the popular board game «The Isle of Cats». This is a completely independent game, based on the classic version, but using the «Choose and write» mechanics. In this version, the game has become simpler and shorter. Now you can play it during a break, on the road, and anywhere, getting almost the same emotions as from the classic game.

Like the regular «Cat Island», it can be played solo. But unlike the basic version, players don`t even have to be at the same table: you can print out the players` letters and play online.

Rescuing the Seals on Paper

The sinister Vesh Darkhand is rushing to the Island of the Cats. He is going to destroy the paradise island along with its furry inhabitants. During the game, players will explore the island, look for treasures, rescue the seals and think about how to place them on their ships.

At the end of the game, participants receive points for saved families, found treasures and completed tasks. At the same time, they lose points for rats on board and unfilled cabins. The player with the most points wins.

Game progress

The game lasts 7 rounds. In each round, cats and task cards are laid out on the table - in a 3 by 4 rectangle.

Players simultaneously choose 1 column and activate all 3 cards from it. The cards are activated in any order.

Cats, oshaks and treasures are depicted in the form of figures. When a player activates such a card, he draws the depicted figure with a marker of the corresponding color on the free cells of his ship, choosing the desired orientation. When a player activates a task card, he finds the same task on his sheet and marks it.

Each player can also perform 1 special action by marking it on the sheet. A total of 3 special actions can be performed per game. Special actions allow you to get additional cards from other columns, choose a row instead of a column, draw a cat twice, treasure, etc.

End of the game

After the 7th round, players count points.

• Rats. Players lose 1 point for each visible rat on the ship.
• Cabins. Players lose 5 points for each unfilled cabin on the ship.
• Cat families. Each cat family brings a certain number of points. A family is 3 or more adjacent cells of the same color. A family of 3 cats scores 8 points, 4 scores 11 points, 5 scores 15 points, and 6 or more scores 20 points.
• Treasures. Each treasure scores 3 points.
• Tasks. Each completed task scores the specified number of points.

The player with the most points wins.
