Board Game Kinfire Delve - Callous` Lab
This is a cooperative card adventure in which the seekers must descend into the Well, at the bottom of which a fight with the final boss awaits.
Game Rules
At the beginning of the game , each player chooses a seeker and receives his deck and lantern. A random Lord card is placed face down in the center of the table, and around it — 4 cards from the Well deck.
The seekers collect from 5 to 8 cards in their hand, depending on the number of players. Players receive new cards only for certain rewards or if they experience exhaustion, so they must be used carefully.
At the beginning of the game, the seekers` total health is 10. If it drops to 0 — the players lose. Player tasks — to pass the Well`s trials to reach the Lord. First of all, a game about tactical thinking under pressure.
On his turn, the player interacts with one of the cards surrounding the Lord. The Well`s deck consists of:
- Events, the passage of which is described in the events themselves.
- Challenges, which occur in several stages.
When interacting with a challenge:
- The player can play a card to gain progress.
- Other players can help him — strengthen his action with their cards (no more than 2 per check).
- The player rolls the dice.
The colors of all cards involved must match the color of the challenge. Successes on the dice are also considered to be symbols corresponding to the challenge. The lantern can be used as any color, but after that it will be discharged.
The result of the challenge depends on the amount of progress on its card:
- If the progress is equal to or exceeds the difficulty — the player overcomes the challenge, receives its reward and plays a new card.
- If the progress is not enough — the player fails the challenge and suffers its punishment. The accumulated progress remains on the card and will be useful for further attempts to complete it.
The end of the adventure
When the players need to replenish the field, and the Well deck is empty — the final stage of the adventure begins. The Lord card is turned over, and Clash cards are laid out around it.
To win the game, the seekers must pass the Lord`s challenge, but the Lord card is black, meaning it is invulnerable to any color. In order to find its vulnerabilities, you must first overcome Clash.
Strategy, careful cooperation of actions, and a bit of luck are the ingredients for obtaining the bloodthirst. Will you be able to eliminate the threat of the Soulless Laboratory and return to your Guild in triumph, or will you suffer the sad fate of your predecessors?
