In the game, under the watchful eye of the ancient gods, you will fight for dominance over the Cycladic archipelago. To achieve victory, you must enlist the support of heroes and mythical creatures, build buildings and participate in battles, hire priestesses and philosophers, and, of course, satisfy the gods with offerings.

Legendary Edition takes the base game to a completely new level: three game modes for 2-6 players, six gods instead of five, a modular playing field that you will build yourself from fragments of the archipelago, new creatures and heroes that carry with you new strategies, a faster and more dynamic auction, new mandatory actions of the gods, a completely updated design of components and illustrations… The legendary edition is legendary!

Game layout overview

The game continues for a number of cycles. Each cycle consists of the following phases:

1. Start of cycle. Players upgrade a number of available heroes and a number of creatures, as well as change the order of gods. The number of gods available depends on the number of players. Apollo is always available (and will always be activated last).
2. Income. Each player receives a coin for each cornucopia symbol displayed in the land and sea zones they control. A player controls a zone if his control token, squad, flotilla, or hero is in it.
3. Offer. Each player chooses the god to whom he wishes to make an offering and places his offering token on the division corresponding to the value of his offering. However, the god favors only one player, so in order to choose an already occupied god, you have to beat the bet of the corresponding offering.
4. Mythical creatures. Each player who controls mythic creatures can leave them in play — to do this, discard one priestess card for each creature the player wants to keep.
5. Actions. In order from the first god to Apollo, the players perform the actions of the gods. First, the player must activate mandatory free actions, and then, if desired, he can perform additional paid actions:

• Athena allows you to build a university, hire philosophers, as well as buy creatures and move heroes;
• Zeus lets you build a temple, hire priestesses, play the top card of the creature deck, and buy creatures and move heroes;
• Poseidon lets you build a port, hire flotillas, move flotillas, and buy creatures and move heroes;
• Ares allows you to build a fortress, hire troops, move troops and heroes, and buy creatures;
• Hera allows you to build a base structure, hire mercenary units, hire a hero, as well as buy creatures and move heroes;
• Apollo — a special god, because he gives only two prosperity tokens, which will increase income, and two coins.

Moving by land or sea can trigger a land or sea battle, respectively, which takes place over several rounds. In each round of the battle, the participants roll the dice and add the necessary indicators to the result. The winner of the battle gains control of the corresponding territory.

Metropolis — it is a powerful structure that has the effects of all other basic structures. Metropolis can be built in several ways — build all four types of base structures, drop four philosophers, use a hero`s sacrificial skill, or capture a land zone with an already built metropolis.

End of the game

The game ends if someone controls three or more metropolises at the end of a cycle, or if any player is destroyed during the current cycle. The winner is the player who controls the most metropolises. In the event of a tie, the bidder with the most coins wins. If there is a tie in terms of the number of coins, then the contenders share the victory.
