Board Game Dune - House Secrets

A fascinating detective quest in the Dune universe

The game uses the popular game system «Detective» and a special website where additional text and visual information is stored and where players compile final reports by answering control questions.

Detective adventure cooperative

In the game, participants will join the Harkonnen Resistance movement. Players are invited to go through four related scenarios - a prologue and 3 missions.

Acting cooperatively, as a team, players play out a series of events and try to achieve certain goals. The problem is that players are limited in time, and they will not be able to take part in all the events. Unfortunately, many secrets will remain outside the frame, which means that players will have to think a lot and solve things on their own.

After choosing characters - soldier Daniel Arias, spy Aria Horace, smuggler Gora Mallick and/or Fremen informant Javed Dhar - participants play them until the end of the campaign. Unlike other games with the mechanics of "Detective", players will be able to develop their characters by sticking stickers of skills on their tablets. Tablets of unselected characters are turned over with the supporters facing up. During the campaign, players will also be able to use supporter bonuses.

Gameplay

After reading the mission introduction and following all the instructions, players proceed to the first events, finding cards with the indicated numbers in the event deck and opening them.

• Events. Event cards describe various situations - searches of suspicious places, interrogation of Arrakis residents, searches for assets, etc. The cards may also have additional instructions and numbers of subsequent events that players can open. Upon opening an event card, players lose 1 hour of game time, moving the marker on the time track 1 division in the direction «0». If the card flip symbol is shown, it means that the card can be flipped - sometimes for free, sometimes for a fee.
• Assets. Some event cards allow you to get asset cards. The same rules apply to asset cards as to event cards.
• History and Moviebooks. When players see a prompt like  «History and Moviebooks», they enter the numbers shown on the website page to access this information.
• Consequences. If players are instructed to take a consequence token, they take a random token from the consequence pool and play it. If they are lucky, nothing happens. Otherwise, you need to move the marker 1 division on the consequences track.

End of the game

The game ends when the marker reaches the «Summary Report» division on the time track. Players select the summary report from the menu on the website and answer the control questions. In this game, you cannot win or lose, but the players` answers affect the further development of the plot.

After completing the report, players can spend experience points on new skills for their characters. The number of available experience points is determined by the marker`s position on the consequences track. They stick the purchased stickers on the character tablets - their heroes and/or supporters. To unlock new skill levels, you need to complete the following missions.
