A fast-paced logic game about the confrontation of prehistoric animals and plants.
Lead a faction of predatory plants, herbivorous ceratopsians, carnivorous tyrannosaurs or flying pterodactyls - and make your species dominant on the planet!
Tic-tac-toe on steroids
This is a board game from Ukrainian game designer Ivan Yakovenko. This is a very interesting abstract that will appeal to both children and adults.
Gameplay
Participants play as many games as there are players. All four types of tiles are always used:
- 2 players: plants + tyrannosaurs / ceratopsians + pterodactyls;
- 3 players: plants / ceratopsians / tyrannosaurs + pterodactyls;
- 4 players: each chooses one type.
At the beginning of the next game, the players exchange creature tiles.
How to move and how to win?
The players move in turns:
- Plants. The player playing for plants places three tiles on any free cells of the field. If 5 plant tiles are adjacent to a tyrannosaurus, his tile is removed from the field. To win (and get 2 points), you need to line up 5 plant chips in a row vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
- Ceratops. The player playing for the ceratops places two chips on any free cells of the field or on plant chips (in this case, the plant chips are returned to the owner`s reserve). To win (and get 2 points), you need to line up 4 ceratops chips in a row vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
- Tyrannosaurus. The player playing for the tyrannosaurus places one chip on any free cell of the field or on a ceratops chip (the ceratops chip is returned to the owner`s reserve). To win (and get 3 points), you need to line up 3 T-Rex tokens in a row vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
- Pterodactyls. The player playing as a pterodactyl places one token on an empty cell next to any token on the field. To win (and get 4 points), you simply need to place 5 pterodactyl tokens on the field.
At the end of each game, the winners receive points. Then the players exchange faction tokens. After playing the required number of games, they add up the points earned. The player with the most points wins.
